Title: firmware upgrade without firewire port
Post by: jabgrsg99 on July 05, 2016, 07:02:38 AM
Hello,

I am looking to upgrade my H5Dc WiFi's firmware.  Hassy's instructions indicate the need for a firewire port which my PC does not have.  Searching this forum I saw a post for a MAC which indicated to go buy a "Thuderbolt to Firewire Adapter".  So, is this as simple as purchasing the same sort of thing (e.g., Firewire IEEE 1394 6 Pin Female to USB Male Adaptor Convertor ) for a PC or do I need to buy and install a firewire card for my PC??

Thank you~!

Kind regards,
Bob Greenberg

on a mac it is that simple to just put the adapter on the firewire cable and put it into the mac's thunderbolt jack.

I have a PC; do i need to purchase an adapter cable as on a Mac or is it more complex?

You can update your firmware using your CF card.
