Title: 3.2.1 - Scene Calibration and Lens Correction.
Post by: DenisM on July 20, 2017, 08:24:32 PM
I've just made a Scene Calibration correction to an image with 3.2.1

With earlier versions of the software, I used to have to untick Vignetting in the Lens Correction tab, in order to prevent the scene from overexposing.

I note now that I don't have to do this.

I can simply make the Scene Calibration correction and leave the Lens Correction tab untouched.

Have they changed something here? (for the better, it would seem)

Thanks.

D.

DenisM,

The rule of thumb is to turn Vignetting off and disable any custom Scene Calibrations. Are you saying when Lens Correction/Vignetting is enable, it has no effect on your Equalized screen calibrated file?

Thanks for the reply.

Not so sure now.

1. Scene Cal. only works for me if I create it first (by clicking Create) and only then ticking the Scene Cal box. It doesn't work if I tick the box first.
2. It used to be the case that if I left the Vignetting box ticked while creating Scene Cal. the image would white out - totally overexpose. Now, there is a very slight additional exposure. As before, this over exposure is removed if I untick the Vignetting box.
