Hello all,
perhaps one of you had a similar problem or has any idea what I could do to troubleshoot this problem...

I got a (supposedly) functioning sensor unit for my H1D. The H1D works perfectly fine with a film magazine, the imagebank (one, not IB II) is recognized and works well with flexcolor but the digital sensor unit shows a red light next to the OK button when connected to the imagebank and the LCD display of the H1D shows "turn on imagebank".
The imagebank is connected to the sensor unit by 10M HR10-7P-4P cable which is supposed to be compatible with the imagebank / H1D.
Because the sensor unit does show a light (the red light mentioned earlier) it looks like it is at least partly working.
Could it be that the cable is not compatible / damaged and therefor does not allow for the sensor unit to be recognized?

I know I could just buy a different cable but they are hard to find :-(

Is there some way to "reset" the sensor unit to eliminate possible misconfiguration issues of the unit that might cause the error condition?

Thank you all.
Michael

First, I would always have a spare Image Bank link cable; preferably a brand new cable (if possible). Try a known good spare cable first as eventually all cables will eventually fail. If you have a bad cable, throw it away or clearly mark it as a bad cable.

Second, if you need H1D service advice; contact B23 in Denmark. Their website is https://hasselbladrepair.com

Third, you can try resetting the firmware in the Image Bank...

Resetting the Image Bank

Restoring Firmware

Firmware to control the operation of the Ixpress is stored on the Image Bank. This firmware is updated automatically through FlexColor when new software versions are released.

It is also possible to manually force the firmware to be loaded to the Image Bank if you are experiencing technical issues. This operation will normally have to be done if the LED on the image bank is showing RED or is not recognized by FlexColor.

1. With nothing attached to the Image Bank and with FlexColor NOT running, press and hold in the power button on the Image Bank

2. Continuing to hold in the power button, attach the Image Bank to your computer and wait until the LED turns red.

3. It is now safe to release the power button. The Image Bank is now in 'Boot Mode'

4. Launch FlexColor and wait until the firmware has been updated, indicated by the dialogue on screen.

5. Quit FlexColor and unplug the Image Bank. The Image Bank is now ready for use.

Thank you for trying to help, much appreciated...

Actually, the image bank was from B23 and is working fine; I have now ordered a new cable from them and I hope this will fix the issue.

I don't have to reset the imagebank but it it great to know how to do that if the need arises.

Is there some way to reset the image sensor unit (some 'secret' button presses procedure)?

Anyways, as soon as I receive the new cable I'll post an update...

Thanks a million,
Michael

A new cable will often fix issues. Since you're already familiar with B23, you know you're getting good service and advice.

Best wishes to you for more happy images from your H1D.

Sorry for the (very) late reply - many reasons...

After buying a new cable everything is working fine.

Thank you all for your help; much appreciated!
