firewire 800 safe connection

do you have any tips to fix properly a Firewire 800 cable on new 17 unibody macbook pro

my very good but heavy cable ( granite ) move and i m worried to be disconneted during a shoot

I just gaffer tape the cable to something so if it gets pulled it doesn't pull on the cable. Same at the camera end, either to the stand if I'm in the studio or loop it round and gaffer to the bottom of the camera. Low tech, but effective!
