Does anyone know or have any idea why there is no adapter for Nikon F or G lenses for the Hasselblad X1/2 apart from Novoflex?
I ask this question because the Novoflex adapter costs more than €200 (in Europe) and is relatively expensive compared to adapters from Chinese manufacturers.

Both Kipon and Fotodiox make NKF to XCD adapters.  I've had both, prefer the Kipon.  Cost around $150 USD

Thanks for your input.
I live in Austria/Europe and on both websites
https://fotodioxpro.com/collections/lens-mount-adapters and
https://kipon.de/ are none of the mentioned adapters to find.

I am also interested, and I found this for Europe:
https://kipon.com/product/n-g-x1d/

But I didn't try to buy one, for the time being !!

That's odd - B&H Photo in New York lists both - the Fotodiox in in stock and the Kipon is a 2-4 week special order.

thx glaiben,
but i will wait until the things are available in EU.
If i order in US i will have to pay shipping and customs duties overall more expensive than the goods.

Using Nikon F lenses on X system cameras cannot cover the 33x44mm sensor size due to the small diameter with a long flange distance of this mount (corners are severely vignetted even with big image circle lenses like centered tilt shift lenses). The format has be cropped in camera to fill entirely the image.

Agree.  Although, longer lenses such as the Zeiss 100/2 ZF.2 Makro work quite well with minimal corner vignetting.

The Sigma Art 1.8/135 at least illuminates the 44x33 sensor completely.
The Fisheye-Nikkor 2.8/10.5 mm DX works as a circular "Christmas tree ball" fisheye on the 44x33.

I would describe everything else in my Nikon cabinet as unsuitable or pointless.

(Incidentally, I use the Novoflex adapter, which is despised here. Solidly made and beautifully compact without an unwieldy tripod base. The camera dealer I trust was also very accommodating in terms of price in connection with the X2D purchase. But I would also have given 200. In comparison to the others  Hasselblad prices are 50€ more or less for such an adapter "peanuts".)

Thanks JCM, i know that.
The PC-Nikkor 28/3.5 covers 33 x 44 completely without vignetting.
The Elmarit-R 90/2.8 covers 33 x 44 almost entirely.
And several other 35mm lenses with a focal length around 90mm and longer fill the image completely without vignetting.

The size of the vignetting depends not only on the image circle diameter but also on the type of construction of the lens.
For example, Double-Gauss constructions show relatively little vignetting.

Canon lenses work much better on X cameras because of the bigger mount diameter.

On my Hasselblad X cameras I use often the Nikon 8-15 fisheye zoom that can be set to give a 180° diagonal on the 33x33 sensor size with the 6x6 crop setting of these cameras.

Do you have a technical explanation for this?

Iskander

The Nikon AF85mm f1.4D (,Cream machine') with Novoflex-Adapter HAX NIK covers 33 x 44 completely without vignetting and is very sharp.
