The 28p has a tiny front element. Should one expect degraded image quality on the x2d 100mp censor if using this lens with filters?
I know all filters can introduce some degradation. I might be wrong, but perhaps the combination of wide angle + small curved front element will make potential image degradation even worse?

I have tested the 28P with Kase magnetic filters in both 72mm and 77mm (step up ring) sizes. I tested their UV, CPL and ND filters. I have seen no degradation with either size, so far in my limited testing, with or without the filters. My tests are preliminary and not comprehensive so far but I'll use them when required. The 72mm had no Vignetting on the 28XCD with the inlaid magnetic ring, which means I can use the original hood.

Personally, I don't see filters as an issue however I avoid them at all costs unless I need them. Filters always affect the image, even good ones can create flare just because you've added two more surfaces for light to bounce off.
