Is one or the other of these your preference for some reason?

I don't use this type and prefer the standard collapsible finder or one of the 3 prism models I own.

it's a matter of magnification rate for me and increased camera size in the bag

While chimney finders are not the first choice of everyone, I would appreciate comments from those who have actual personal experience with both of these finders.
I would appreciate hearing from actual users in regard to their own personally observed differences between these two finders.  For purposes of this post, only these two finders are under consideration.

Just a "wild-card" thought - should you ever change your mind and consider a HM2 viewfinder?
Disovered the HM2 way back, in our flexbody-kit + SWC screen-adapter days!
They do hold their price, theres a reason for that though

Use the HM2 even today for critical-focusing on both fim and digital with our 500 EL/M + 501c bodies.
Do recommend using an acute matte screen though (regardless of chimney finder used) ours are the "cross-hair" type which have always found so much faster to focus!
Just a thought, when attached to the V system the HM2 viewfinder must be in the fully extended position (to allow for mirror position) and fully retracted when used on the SWC screen adapter/flex body kit

Any idea what the HM2 magnification might be?

The soft eye-cup design, also makes it ideal for shooting with shades/glasses on, when out in bright sunlight too!

Should anyone care at this late date, my choice finally ended up being this one, largely because of the higher magnification and the adjustable diopter.  I would suspect that the HM2 would be at least its equal, but didn't have an opportunity to try one.  For my personnel use i find the little "wing" sticking out of the side of the rubber eyecup is a negative, but I'm sure others prefer it.

you can remove the eyecup easily, it's just mandatory on meter prisms that are completely wrong without it.

Of course you can remove it, but then there is not protection from the exposed metal surface.
Alternatively, you can purchase a new replacement eyecup without the extended purchase.  For only $89  :)
