Hi guys! Just a quick one.

I own an H3D body, updated it to the latest firmware myself. (https://hasselbladrepair.com/webshop/software/cb_2-3-3/)

Curious if I could use a Phase One back, specifically P25 with it.

I know that Hasselblad definitely started locking out third parties with the H4D onwards, and I've heard of the H3D-II locking backs (including the film magazine) out, but I've been unable to find any specific word online about the original H3D body's compatibility with Phase One backs of the era. My hopes are high as it does work with the film back, but you never know. Have conducted a search on several forums and googled all day to no avail.

If anyone could let me know if this combination works, that would be much appreciated!

Thanks and all the best,

H3D cameras are not compatible with Phase One backs because the camera to back interface changed between the H2 and H3 generations. H4x, H5x and H6x are compatible while cameras without "x" aren't.

Note that there are also H2 "D" and "F" cameras that do not work with Phase One.

H3D cameras support film backs - H3D-II don't.
