Flash! Fill-in and Otherwise

Hi.  I am going to be doing some indoor shooting of a local locomotive restoration project.  It is in a large Quonset hut and pretty dark inside.  I would like to not use direct flash inside but bounce instead.  I would also like to have the option of using the flash for fill-in when appropriate inside and, of course, outside.  What has been the group experience on flash or flashes which fill this bill?
