Thank you guys, good to know it can definitely work (anybody confirm the cable Hasselblad put in the camera box works too?). I will keep plugging (no pun intended) away!

The Hasselblad cable should work, but any cable (including brand new cables fresh from the package) can fail. That's why replacing the cable is always among the first troubleshooting steps when there are connection problems.

I give up I think! I've tried six (!) quality cables, all advertised as either data, high speed, TB3, TB4 etc, and none work. Again, WiFi is fine, and a wired iPhone (as opposed to iPad Pro) is fine.
