The next firmware will be 2.0 and will feature HDR photo and the various crop modes from X1D series.

Not sure about focus peaking, but from first hands on it wasn't there.

What is "HDR Photo"?
Almost certainly exposure bracketing with Auto Blending. If it doesn't do tone mapping, it might not be a disaster, e.g. cleaner shadows.

I use HDR on a Sony A7III and it does make the images pop more, a more 3D effect and, yes, the shadows are cleaner.

Wow, nothing racy there, two photos of cars.  Let me try another way.  I am at a loss as I cannot get a "share" address from the folder but I can get a "share" address for the whole folder.  Bang away at it, just cars, not even naughty ones.  https://flic.kr/s/aHsmLQRPmw

No that does not work.  It just shows the HDR images.  I'll try something else.

For some reason the whole folder was not "Safe" which is pretty weird.  Sorry for the inconvenience.  They are JPG, SOOC.  IIRC the HDR was shot at one stop under regular and one stop over.

HDR: https://flic.kr/p/2iBUbDP

Geht es nun?

The use and value of the HDR function is plain.  To me, anyway.  ;o)

OK, I had to add this, on the border of flashy moving towards gaudy.

You have a magic touch.  Flickr has been weird recently, like switching the folder to Adult.  You are welcome.

So, the camera is doing camera processing of bracketed exposures. Is the blended exposure a JPEG or a raw?
If it's a JPEG, I would have no interest. If the latter, I do recall that Phase offers something like that in the IQ4 backs.

Today there was a discussion between two users in the Hasselblad X2D Facebook group. One of them claimed that there would be a firmware update coming soon, which would include HDR Photo, among other things. He showed an X2D display with a corresponding icon that was presented at an event.
Another user noticed that the font under all icons was Chinese letters, only under the HDR icon the font was Arabic letters.
When asked which event it was and why the different fonts are the same, the author had no answer.
Instead, he became insulting and said he didn't have to prove anything to anyone.
Half an hour later the thread was deleted.
To be honest, I also believe that this was a fake.
So I wouldn't kick that too far with the supposedly upcoming HDR.
I won't believe that until I've downloaded it.

Amend that from A7III to A7II.  That's what they were shot on.  I have not tried HDR on the A7III.  Those pics were JPG SOOC.  I'll see if I can do HDR RAW on the A7III.

OK, it will do RAW HDR's but not the 1 EV step ones.  It, the A7 III, does it in an "auto" mode which was unimpressive in a dark room.  So it is implemented in Sony.  Hopefully in Hasselblad.

Don't thank me, just write your name on the back of a $100 bill and send it to me.   ;o)
