First off, I am using an X1D camera body, but thought my inquiry would be best here, among H & V users, as clarified below.
I'd appreciate your opinion on the following two methods of adding TS capability to my X1D.

Both options would utilize "used" items from Ebay, in good working condition.

1. Kipon TS adapter with Zeiss CF 40mm Distagon, or
2. HTL 1.5 TS adapter with HC 28mm lens (rendering an effective 42mm lens).

Opinions please.
Thank you.

The HTS is brilliant! And it works for other HC lenses as well. I have used it on my H bodies with the 28, 80 and 80 with extension tubes for table top macro.

HTS from Hassy by far.

Works seamlessly, beautiful build quality, nice large non-fiddly controls easy to use with gloves, automatic recocking leaf shutter vs slow e-shutter on X series and HC/D lenses are sharper and better corrected than than older V series lenses. The HCD 28mm is stunning and a mint(ish) used HTS can be found for under 1/2 the new price.

We used ours on both our H series and GFX with the Fuji adapter. Seamless.

Have a mint HTS for sale if interested. Have owned the HTS twice (buy as needed for rare project).  I can't speak of it's build quality and ease of use highly enough.

Using the HTS with HCD28, and a H to X converter in place of the adapter would compensate the focal length increase due to the HTS when used on a X system camera.

Hasselblad said to me : "it works"

Does somebody have a practical experience of this combo ?

I guess the converter should shrink the optical circle, how much is left for shifting ?

What's perfect with Fuji cameras isn't with Hasselblad X !
Fuji cameras don't loose AF with non orange dot H lenses, Hasselblad X do.

non orange dot X lenses can be found cheap
orange dot remain really expensive even as second hand.

I've bought a demo NOS orange dot HCD28 for a future use on HTS mounted on the X1D. It's huge and heavy compared with X lenses.
Sharpness wide open isn't as good as X lenses on edges.
With closed aperture it's not far behind, but visually OK.

Are you shure that HC lenses do AF on Fuji?
