The 1st trip I took was The Antelope Canyon in Arizona after I bought my XCD 21 mm lens. I used this lens to take many nice photos inside the canyon. The 16-bit and 14-stop dynamic range of my X1D produced gorgeous photos with particular shadow and layers of different colors of the inside canyon. If I bought my XCD 45 mm instead, I would not have taken the photos with the same perspective as the 21 mm lens. You wont regret getting the 21 mm.

Tons of experience with it. I use it for landscape. What are your questions/hangups about it?

Here's some of my favorites I've taken with it:

I have owned both for a while but for me 30 has been much more flexible focal length...and I don't like to carry more than 2-3 lenses.
SO I sold the 21mm and kept the 30 (along with some other xcd lenses)

I got the XCD 21 mm two weeks ago and can confirm the excellent reputation of this lens. Optical quality seems very close to the 30 mm which is high praise indeed. Sharp in the central part from WO, with a gentle fall off towards the edges. Cleans up at f 5,6.  A surprising find is the lack of diffraction softening at f 11, barely noticeable. Otherwise minimal field curvature and CA. But I am probably preaching to the choir here ;)
Anyways, I'm glad I bought this lens although it's rather extreme angle of view takes some getting used to. Again thanks for the feedback!

Wet nose.  The 21mm gives amazing perspective with stunning detail.
