I want to get a 1000F to shoot with together with the 907X, is that compatible? I read somewhere that it works on "some" 1000F. How do i understand which i can buy?

I presume you mean the CFVII 50c digital back.

Well, the CFVII 50c manual says in its "Camera Support" section:
QuoteCamera support
Virtually all Hasselblad V System cameras built from 1957 onwards - including 500C, 500C/M, 501C, 503CX, 503CXi, 503CW, 503CWD, EL, EL/M, ELX, ELD, 203FE, 205TCC, 205FCC, SWC/M, FlexBody and ArcBody. All View Cameras/ Technical Cameras with a V System magazine interface.

The Hasselblad 1000F was discontinued in 1957, and its backs are not actually V system compatible, so I doubt that any of these bodies would work at all with the CFVII 50c digital back. More than that is a question for Hasselblad technical support.

If what you're looking for is a Hasselblad SLR with a focal plane shutter, you likely want to look at the 200 series V system bodies. But honestly, I think the back works best with a 500 series body ... there are fewer restrictions.

Here is what the guy on Facebook writes:

Please note that there is no guarantee that the CFV II back fits to such an old body. I already know two 1000F bodies, which are not compatible (including my own 1000F). My 1600F and another 1000F are ready to go.
Reason unknown.

Does somebody have more information? I would really like a 1000F or 1600F, but i want to be sure i can use the CFV on it.

I love 50:s look of the camera, and the rough results from the lenses to contrast with the mega crisp results we get with the XCD lenses

Now i got some reports from Facebook

3 persons report that the CFV is working without any problems on the 1600F

2 persons says it works on 1000F

3 persons says it doesn't work on their 1000F

Could you guys please test and report here? I am very curious if I can order a 1600F ?

I think this is going to be a toss up on a unit by unit basis ... If you get lucky, it'll work; if you don't, it won't. Hasselblad will likely say "That is not a supported configuration, sorry." so it's all on you and Luck. I doubt there are enough people out there, as yet, who are experimenting with the combination of 1000F and CFVII 50c back to get a decent picture on why certain bodies work and others do not.

What is special about a Hasselblad 1000F or 1600F that has your curiosity so piqued? Do you happen to have a cabinet full of old Hasselblad lenses and accessories for this series camera? LOL! :)

I was an old Leica Collector for 25 years. I sold my 45 cameras to finance the family's restaurant project.
But I am occasionally missing to take out 50 year old cameras. Have the all manual feeling. I am also missing the look taken with old lenses. I guess this is more of a Leica Culture. There could be 100 messages in a discussion about a single lens from the 50s.

I love the look of 1000f and 1600f and the sample pictures i have seen with the old Zeiss lenses looks amazing.

I am also to lazy to scan these days. So the possibility to shoot with a 1600f would be great!

Well, the Hasselblad 500CM I'm using is a 1978 issue camera. That's 42 years ago. The V system lenses I use are from 1967 to 1992 ... that's 53 to 28 years old. I can't say as there's much difference between that and a '56 1000F and '56 Zeiss lenses.

But whatever makes you happy. :)

you would not have nice digital results with 1000F 1600F lenses.
1600F additional Kodak lenses did only exist as prototypes, and 1000F Zeiss were not great.
For example the Planar 2.8 80mm was a 6 elements design that has rapidly been replaced on the 500C with the much better 7 elements design.

1000F and 1600F as nice collectors cameras yes,
using them today in digital, forget it.

Thats exactly the point why I am so eager to find some solution to try the real old lenses. I want to have the look from the 1940, flare bad colours etc. I was a Leica Collector before and had amazing results with cameras from the 1930s and 1940s. I have now seen quite a lot of samples what can be done with 1000f and 1600f cameras and CFV so I am chasing a good object to buy.
