I received my 907x a few weeks ago and I updated it with latest firmware.  All seemed fine.

Over the last week or so, I've noticed that if I shut down the back for a hour or more, on restart, I can see the green 'on' light but nothing on the screen.  I have to switch on and off a couple of times and also flip the screen up and down before the screen comes back to life.  It is very frustrating

Has anyone had similar issues?

Thanks and regards, Kulbir

Sounds frustrating. When it happens again, try removing the battery, or unclicking it from it's position and then reinserting. If you haven't tried that before does that work? Would be less frustrating than moving the screen up and down.....

Thanks.  I removed the battery and re-inserted a few times over the last week but problem stayed.  I just read the manual and in trouble shooting it mentioned battery needs to be removed for over 10 seconds and the processes will re-set itself.  I've just done that and for the moment it seems to be working fine.

I have switched off and will switch on in an hour to see if the problem is permanently fixed.  I'm hoping its software and not hardware issue  ;)

Me too. I have pre-ordered the Chrome version. What is your opinion so far? Like it? I think it looks absolutely fantastic. Have you used it with flash yet?

I left it for a few hours and then switched it on again.  The problem is still there.  The green light indicates it's on but the screen is blank for a couple of minutes as if it's warming up or something.  Has anyone else experienced the same?

Maybe reinstalling the firmware could help? This is at least somethings I would try.

Kulbir

I have reinstalled the firmware and no change.  I might reinstall the previous version of the firmware to see if it makes any difference

I can't seem to find the previous version of the 907x firmware on the Hasselblad website.  Can anyone help please.  Cheers, Kulbir

All I can see is FIRMWARE 1.2.0 which is the latest version as far as I see, and no previous listed.

If I remember correctly you need to press the update button will booting up the camera. In the update menu tab 5 times on the Icon That should give you the additional option to tab on retry firmware update.

I think I may have figured it out.  My first thought was that I had some auto shutoff settings in power and battery sections.  I ticked off these seating and watched over a couple of days, by leaving it overnight and then starting the DB in the morning.  No difference.

I then realised that my dry cabinet is next to the sliding door and its winter in Australia, and maybe the DB was getting too cold.  It felt very cold to touch when I took it out of the dry cabinet.  I next experimented by storing it in a pelican case to keep it warm.  2 days now and it works perfectly.  No issues, it starts immediately.  Still watching it to decide conclusively.

If true, my take is that the screen is tilting so disconnected from the main body in terms of heat and maybe there is a failsafe put in by Hasselblad - that when it's cold it takes a while to warm up the display to protect the screen.

Thoughts anyone?

That sounds an interesting possibility. Glad to hear that you may have solved your issue.
