Thinking of upgrading to Catalina? Be careful!

For the mac users...

Catalina ONLY supports 64 bit apps so if you rely on some older software be cautious.

To find out which apps are 32 bit press and hold the option key and go to the apple minuend click on "System Information"

Under the "software" tab on the left click "applications" and wait for it to load.

Then in the column names look for "64-Bit" and click on that to sort by wether an App is 64 bit or not.

All the ones that say "No" won't run under Catalina.

I wait for months before updating OS's after a bad experience years ago when software (Sinar eXposure back then) wouldn't run when I opened my laptop for the first shot on a location shoot. It took my assistant hours to 'downgrade' back to the previous OS to get me up and running!

Usually there is no compelling reason to upgrade in a hurry.
