Printing and XCD lens rendering

I'm interested to hear people's thoughts on this as I don't have access to many of the XCD lenses.

The XCD lenses have fairly subtle differences in their rendering. For example, I've read that the 20mm has a bit more 'gentle' rendering than the 30mm.

Have you noticed this coming through when you make prints? Of course, the more the images are processed the less relevant this becomes.

I have the XCD 21, 45, 45P, 80, 90, 135, 135x1,7 and their rendering is very very close.

I can mix big prints from all lenses without any print consistency issue.

Yes when pixel peeping the 45 is a tad less sharp, and the 80 is at a pinacle, but it's not noticeable on big prints.

My opinion is that you have not to think about optical quality when choosing a XCD lens, you have only to choose the lens that fits the best to your needs in matters of:

focal length
size and weight
AF/MF performance
shutter noise
bracketing ability

Sharpen your eyes not your files

Very helpful, thanks.

How close are 45 and 45P in prints?
