Will 2 batteries be enough for travel?

When I am on a daytrip with my X1D ii I always have 3 batteries with me. Normally 2 are enough for one day at least for my way of shooting and with the GPS activated but it makes me feel better to have one spare in case something happens and I do not have to look that all are fully loaded. I think in comparison they are not so expensive and they are relatively lightweight.

It depends if you photograph a lot in your journey, if you use often the sleep mode of the camera or
not, if you make a lot of backscreen reviews or not and how bright is your screen etc.

I have a power consumption between 1/2 and 2 1/2 batteries in a day depending on these conditions.

The key when shooting whole day long every day is the new battery charging hub.
It charge 2 batteries together and can be feeded on:
- a normal AC wall outlet
- a USB socket on a computer, in the car, in airports...
- a big power bank in my backpack with the USB cable

Oh you made my day. I'm ordering the charging hub but had no idea it can be charged By USB which makes it compatible with powerbanks. This is amazing news.

The problem with the non locking GPS module for me is when it slides slightly in the hot shoe it turns off, you don't notice it before the next shot and when pushing it again in you have to wait a full initialization period of something like 10 minutes before shooting again with GPS datas.

Has anyone done a direct comparison of the new 3400mAh batteries with the older 3200mAh?   I noticed JoeC sold all his older batteries and replaced them with these new ones.   Are they that much better?

The theoretical difference is 100*200/3200 --> +6%

My problem wit the batteries is the jumping O-ring, I lost 2 out of 3.

My dealer gave me 2 new ones, and now I glued each of them in the groove, with two tiny droplets of silicone resin.

Why does Hasselblad not secure the O-rings ?

Sadly - this is a pretty theoretical discussion as the batteries are out of stock since weeks and I have to live with the one inside my MkII ....
