Now the 80mm 1.9 has dropped I do have some interest left in the X2D.

But the main hurdle for me is no C1, which is now an option for the Fuji. I'm not sure how Hasselblad will react to this or if there is anything they can do about it anyway. This is the first deal breaker for me.

Next is longevity. I'm a heavy pro user and have no intention in buying into a system that has an uncertain future. I just can't tell with Hasselblad anymore.

Next ls lenses. I am in love with the 80mm 1.9 and want to see more lenses like it - a 45ish 1.9 would be a total deal sealer for me. But will they come? It's doubtful to me. So it will depend on adaptability and how the X2D has managed to deal with electronic shutter and rolling shutter etc. But not being able to shoot flash with the electronic shutter could present more problems then I care for.

The rumoured Fuji 80mm 1.4 is probably going to shine too...I think we're going to see that very soon at GFX-100 launch time as a surprise to plug the Hasselblad Gap.

IBIS. For it to have no IBIS wouldn't be a good thing. But having shot 100MP a lot in the past I don't think it's a major deal breaker. But if the Fuji is as great and all with IBIS, then that's probably what I'm going for.

Also I want to see how Hasselblad's focus implementation is compared with Fuji (which I am only guessing that Fuji's is going to be better and better served with firmware updates etc).

Shutter lag - I'm not putting up with that. It has to as good or very close to the H for me to consider it.

We'll see. I was set on the X2D-100 until I saw how good the Fuji 100 is going to be. I can't say the prognosis for Hasselblad competing on that level is very good.

If you need C1, adaptability and flash with adapted lenses, and IBIS, the GFX100 is probably the better fit for your needs.

If you're only interested in the X system still because of the 80mm 1.9, Fuji has a rumored 80mm 1.4 as you noted, and there are also fast Mitakon lenses available for the GFX now, as well as a bevy of adapted lenses than use the focal shutter of the GFX and don't have to rely on ES.

So the unannounced X2D wishlist has become "buy unreleased Fuji instead." SMH.

Well, when C1 support is at the top of the wishlist.....and when lack of C1 support is a "deal breaker"...

We can put C1 support all we want on the wishlist, but the odds of P1 natively (i.e. without a metadata hack) supporting the X1D or upcoming X2D in C1 are practically nil currently, at least as long as Hasselblad is selling the H-series and 54x40mm sensors.  If one needs/wants C1 and is choosing between the X and the GFX, well, one system already is supported by C1 and will be in the forseeable future, and another probably won't be in the forseeable future.

I've already chimed in with my wishes for the X2D I think....I just want the upcoming IMX461 100mp sensor, a joystick for focus point selection, for them to keep the form factor as close to the current form factor as possible, and for them to keep the price close to that of the upcoming GFX100 (rumored around $10k USD).  Anything else (shorter EVF blackout, higher EVF res, live view histogram, face/eye AF, shorter boot time, etc etc etc) is icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned.  As Sony is also producing a monochrome variant of the IMX461 sensor, I'd also kill for a monochrome X2D.

I agree, Todd, that C1 support would be great. I am all for choice in the selection of a raw converter. I really like C1. However, my priorities are very different. C1 support is WAY less important to me than the form factor of the X2D compared to the form factor of the GFX 100S. While we are all in the dark about the form factor of the X2D (assuming t here will be one), the form factor of the GFX 100S prototype that Fuji is showing is a total nonstarter for me.

You are posting this same answer here and there and the smugness of it just smells bad. If you don't want to talk about it and find it tiresome, then don't.

In the meantime, others are happy and free to discuss what will come to be as part of their decision making process.

Apologies. I find the smugness of evangelism offensive.

Best,

Hasselblad owners are especially put off by Hasselblad bashing, since it is so prevalent on all forums.  You say someone is smug, yet you come on a brand specific forum and recommend a Fuji product that is not even released.  I'd say that is the height of smugness and smells particularly bad.

This has been a very friendly forum, and that appeals to me and I am sure other users here.  Please try and be sensitive to the fact that most of us here have been inundated by reasons why we are so uninformed to have chosen Hasselblad products, and we're just plain tired of it.

After decades of photography, both film and digital, 35mm and 6X6, the X1D is the camera of my dreams, and the positive features far outweigh the small number of "drawbacks".  If you require things that the X1D does not possess, please choose whatever you need.  Keep in mind that all of us do not require much more than is available on the X1D.  And, I certainly have zero need for C1.  It remains a mystery to me why so many are wedded to C1, unless so much time is invested in it, that one hates to give it up.  It only took minutes to get up to speed on Phocus, and I already knew enough about Photoshop and Lightroom that any further work needed on a file could be accomplished there.

I didn't recommend a Fuji Product. I discussed the reasons why I am personally unsure of buying an X2D - are balanced discussions not permitted here? I have been a Hasselblad customer for 25 years.

That is funny coming from you, one of the most nauseatingly evangelical commenters about one particular system.
