Would autofocus on an H4x be better than on an H2?

My H2 has trouble with all autofocus in a studio setting and it makes no difference if I have it on single shot or continuous autofocus. I can hear the camera hunting for focus and it frequently fails to focus.

I have focus assist turned on although I am concerned that my Cokin filter holder might interfere with focus assist. My testing of this issue is inconclusive.

My question is: would autofocus on an H4x work better in low light than on an H2?

Hi rogerxnz - a lot has changed with the focus since H2, But the main difference is the true focus function available on the H4x. If you can get your hands on an H5X even better, and they tend to be around the same price of a new H4X, used.

I absolutely love my H5D-40. And have used the H5X and H6X with the IQ180 and can say they're a solid and reliable setup, don't have any experience with the H2 to comment sadly.

Thank you, Ben.
A friend has an H6D and when it comes back from a warranty repair, I'll have a little test.
