just want to get a confirmation I won't run into compatibility issues, assuming everything is on latest firmware

I am using Elinchrom for Nikon, and all works just fine. I assume Profoto should work as well, but there is a thread going on right now related to the Profoto A1 which made me think that your best option is to ask Profoto itself to make sure

This is from the manual -

The X1D Camera can be used together with the following flashes in TTL mode:
Nikon:
   SB-300
   SB-500
   SB-5000
   SB-700
   SB-900
   SB-910

Profoto:
   A1
   B1
   B2

I use the Profoto Nikon remote to fire A1s and B10s in TTL on the X1D and it works perfectly. The newest firmware on the A1s do not do TTL when directly connected to the X1D. The old firmware worked perfectly. There is previous thread discussing this.

About the A1, as Chris and I mentioned already there is another thread dedicated to that where you can find more info. My guess on this is, Hasselblad supports the Nikon TTL protocol, and - at the time they made the manual - so did the Profoto A1; I also guess it is Profoto, and not Hasselblad, that are responsible if a new Firmware in Profoto broke such compatibility Hope this helps!

Actually I see reply on B&H that it works with 1.15 FW or later.

But then A1 also worked :-(

Didn't want to take any chances, so just ordered Broncolor Siros kit with RFS 2.2 N

Broncolor replied that for X1D better using RFS 2.1, so the order has changed then
