From where do I measure sharp?

Hi,

I just got back my Hasselblad 500C/M from a focus check. However... if I set my lens (80mm CF) to 1 meter and place an object 1 meter from where the film is placed, this object is not sharp. If i leave the object at 1 meter and use the scale on the lens and focus at 1,1 meter, then the object is sharp (in the viewfinder). I dont get it... should I measure from somewhere else or did they simple not notice this... even though this was why I sent it in.

Im getting desperate as I have never been able to focus with this camera. Help.

Hi Peter

The distance should be measured from the film plane to the object not from the front of the lens to the object.  Does that help?
