X5 connection problems

Hi,

I've been using an X5 for a year or so to convert legacy collections. Last month the PC (Win XP and Win 7) failed to recognise the X5 upon boot up. It gives me the 848 as an option but not the X5.

Occasionally the system has booted up correctly but then the connection has been lost after 10 or so scans.

I've tried different PC's, cables and firewire cards to no avail. The problem remains random.

Can anyone offer any advice?
