Hi gang,

Anyone successfully using the new Mac Mini as a capture machine running Phocus?

Cheers!

Hi there,
Sorry, but i don't have a new Mac Mini, i have the old one [2009 model] and it is the only Mac desktop i use, connected with 30" Apple Cine Disp. and i run Photoshop/Phocus/LR/.... on it with no problems.

From the specs on the Apple site:

NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics processor with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory

My experience with a MBP with only 256MB of graphics memory is that it is unusable at 100% zoom. My new MBP with 512MB works well, as does my iMac with 512MB.

It may work as a capture machine but I suspect that you would have difficulty checking focus.
Cheers,

Jeff

Hi Peter,

Yes, I think Jeff is right. The video card might be a little weak especially if you want to run it with a decent size monitor.

What's the max RAM youncan place in there?  Will your friendly local apple store let you hook up a camera?
