"runs fine for 50 shots / half hour then gets incredibly slow" problems that people report.

I must be lucky, but I run it on a PC with 4GB of memory with shoots around 500 images or more and I do check most of them for focus and never had a memory problem (I mean the PC never had, I might have some . Unless I incidentally pull out the firewire cord out of the camera during the shoot, which might require a restart.

Photoshop on the other hand is a totally different story. It loves memory.
