1.17.2 is nice, but I still need auto ISO in M mode and an option to set my lowest shutter speed in A mode. I think it's useful when handheld in order to get sharp images. Does anyone need this ?

Separate storage of RAW and JPG...

Agree!
And also backup write into SD1 and SD2.

1) Second card for backup or mirror of first card.

2) Turn off Live View and keep EVF active (and hopefully less start up EVF lag time when I bring the camera to my eye)

3) Shorter EVF black out between shots [if this can be done in FW]

In general, I can live with a long start up time for the camera by buying a couple of extra batteries and keeping power off at 30 minutes or never, but I would sure like a faster response from the EVF.

Separate storage of RAW and JPG...

That was advertised when the X1D first came out but has since disappeared. However I think it's better that both formats are on the same card as it makes retrieval much simpler.  I only have to remove one card to access my pictures rather than fumbling around with two of them.

For location work: my iPad pro reads from a memorycard with both RAW & JPG only the RAW files. If it only contains jpg files then it only reads the jpg files...

I'm almost at the "good enough" stage with the camera. My wish list is getting shorter:

  • Image review using EVF; difficult to use Live View in bright sun
  • Live histogram using EVF or Live View
  • Auto ISO in M mode
  • Ability to set lowest shutter speed in A mode
  • Lens information and EV values in EXIF; EXIF is currently very sparse
  • Distance and/or DOF scale in EVF and Live View; currently no distance or DOF scale on lens or in displays

To All,

I assure you that I have copied and sent all future feature request to techsupport@hasselbladbron.com; they will send them directly to our Product Manager.

Not a firmware request exactly, but I would love it if they would provide a super simple Android app to at least connect and allow us to press the shutter button. This would be very useful when using the x1d on a tripod.

  • Image review using EVF. Very important. Hard to verify focus etc. out in the field.
  • Ability to set lowest shutter speed in A Mode
  • Reduce EVF lag when placing Eye over sensor
  • Faster startup time

The only thing I expect is to be able to switch to 3 * 2 format.

A simple frame in the viewfinder that simulates the 2 * 3 format would be sufficient.

And also a faster startup

This camera should have:
1. Multiple exposure (3,5,7 exposures)
2. Auto-Bracketing (7 exposures minimum)
3. An external shutter release (wireless preferred--yes I know this can be done with Phocus)

My only significant issue with X1D is slow activation of EVF. Would like to have something as implemented in Leica SL:
- EVF always on, while rear LCD is used for menu and image review.
