A few examples in the wild. I have one on my shelf.

auto zoom does indeed not work with the XH adapter even on newer HC/HCD lenses. But if you press the star button on the right side of the lcd it goes to 100% on live view and also by looking through the EVF. Next, I am gonna to test the combination with 4.8/24mm and HTS.

I'm experimenting with the adapter and the HC 210mm lens. My experiment was a test of how difficult it would be to manually focus a fast moving, twitchy...bird. With a rubber lens hood attached, and the hood pressed against the double-pane kitchen window closest to the bird feeder, here are two test shots.

These are significant crops from the full frames and show the power of having cameras nowadays with high-megapixel, high-DR sensors. No tripod, no IBIS/VR/ISS/OSS. Just a young-at-heart old guy enjoying new equipment (and birds). I used +50 Luminance Noise Reduction in LR and some sharpening. The OOC camera WB was right on. And highlights on the goldfinch, which I usually blow, weren't in this case.

Great job, Joe.  ISO 3200 blows me away!

David,

The issue you're experiencing will be resolved with a future firmware update. The update will be possible for existing HC/HCD lenses with firmware version 1.18.0 and those produced from approximately 2013 forward.

How can I determine whether my HC lenses were produced after 2012? Serial #?

Joe

Originally there was a a simple two letter date code before the serial number for the V series then "Modern" Hasselblad numbering added a two character product code before the date code, thus 7DVS12345 identifies a 100mm HC lens code 7D dated 2010, VS is the date code see http://hasselbladhistorical.eu/HT/HTDating.aspx

Thanks Chris. That helped a lot.

Unfortunately 80mm 2.8 (version 17.0.0) is not detected in x1d ii with normal XH adapter.

To my knowledge the XH Adapter should allow to trigger the lens shutter and to control the aperture. AF won't work, though.

Use an 80mm with XH and XH0.8 all the time with ancient FW# on an X1DII - works fine, recognized perfectly, etc., - just no AF. Same with 28, 50II, 210, etc.
