Phocus crashes mountain lion and computer restarts

Hello.
I'm writting to you because I'm having a very serious problem that is getting worse every day, and I can't find out a solution, and I can't understand why this thing is happening.
The point is that when using Phocus on my mac, after a few shots, the computer crashes, and after a panic message restarts. This thing happens also sometimes when the cammera is not connected to the computer and I try to see and adjust taken pictures. But the most weird thing is that this happens only when using Phocus. My computer works perfectly with any other program.
Since this issue started (because the computer and phocus worked fine in the begginning) I tried all the options in my hand:
Re-downloaded several times Phocus from Hasselblad
Started with a new clean user exclusive for phocus
And the last thing, I formatted my computer to 0, cleaned partitions, started with a new one partition, installed OS again, but the problem keeps on my mac. I don't now what to do, and I can't understand what is happening. As you may understand, is impossible to keep a sooting sesion with people, when after 4 or 5 shots computer suddenly restarts. And I shoot celebrities, just imagine what funny moments.... Not funny at all....
Mi computer: Macbook Pro 17" i7 2.66 Ghz, 8 gb ram. OX 10.8.2
I'll really apprciatte your advice, can't believe the only option is to go and buy a new computer (no more 17" macs!!!!)
Thank you very much

I share your pain!
Same problem here for me. Same laptop too btw. Sd embarrassing moments in studio.
See my previous posts here.
I called my Hasselblad agent and was told that this is a known bug in Mountailn Lion.
Yes, thats Apple fault sparently not Hasselnlads... hmmm.
His advice was to reinstall Snow Leopard.
I did and everything's fine now.
But I'm really miffed at having to go backwards on my OS = what a pain.

Thank you Carl. But I can't be happy using a 30k dls camera with a 4 years old OS. In fact, I was using Phocus with Lion witn no problems. Going back to an older OS is a headache, all my things are working and adapted to this system iCloud included... Not easy thing downgrading and getting all working properly again.... I hope Hasselblad works together with Apple to solve this. Most of Hasselblad owners are Macintosh users so I think we deserve to get a solution from them working together, and soon.
Best!!!!

I had the same problem and I received this link from my dealer.
http://www.macrumors.com/2012/12/06/pixelmator-apologizes-for-crashes-resulting-from-nvidia-driver-bug/
But I downloaded the 2.7 version and cleaned up my MBPro and It has been working after that.
I can mention that I also had problem with CS6.

Interesting...
I too would love to be back with Mountain lion or even Lion for that matter.
Just need reassurance that I can do so safely without the crashes - anyone offering theirpositive experiences with this?

Hey, I found a possible solution, at least until this stuff get solved by apple, hasselblad, nvidia and their minds. There is a way to switch to the intel GPU and work avoiding nvidia while using Phocus. Take a look at this link
http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-20004619-263.html
I will test it and I will share my experience. Please, tell me what happens there. Cheers. Hernan

This sounds like a good work around.
Is the Intel chip fast enough for Phocus?
Please let us know how your testing works out.

Well, yesterday evening I made a quick test at home. Even tough everything went fine, I have to say that the temperature condition at that time were not the same than at studio or outdoors on a sunny day. Yesterday was a fresh day in Buenos Aires.
The results: excellent. It was curious, because, I shot with the intel card, and went ok, later I tested with nvidia, and no crashes neither. Is strange.... maybe the problem is when automatically system switches between one card and the other and phocus is working.... I don't know what to say... And of course.... crashes always happens when you are in the middle of real shooting, is like when you go to the doctor....
I will keep on testing, no shooting scheduled this days so far... wait for news from other "testers"

This sounds promising!
I'm shooting Monday my time - but I'm too scared to risk the switch back until after that.
Keep us posted on your tests please

YES!!!!. Today I shot hard, and no one crash. Incredible, like old times. Hope not to have surprises again, you never knows, but since I installed this thing that controls card switching, I had no more crashes.
I wish you good luck with this, and any other news about (no news good news) I will be writing.
Best!
