Hi,

I am a new member and looking at purchasing an H3D II- 50 megapixel.  That said, B&H has changed the availability date from November 08 to February 09.  Is this an issue with demand outstripping supply or is there a manufacturing / technical issue that is causing shipping delays?  Other?

Thanks!

Bob,

I just got an email from my dealer in NYC saying he's going to have the H3DII-50 in his store this week. If you'd like, give him a call: Fotocare and speak with Richard Andres, richa@fotocare.com or  212-741-2990 - you may use my name. Good luck with your purchase!

Kind regards,

Maubwana,

I looked at the link and I'm not sure if I can give good advice - I have never used eBay before and I do not know if this price is a good one. Perhaps others here with more eBay experiece can chime in or even help with the price tag of $10K). Some things that scare me: you'd never know if it's been banged or damaged in some way that did not leave external marks on the body. Could also have had moisture damage and, if dry now, you'd never know. These are some things that come to mind right away.

My H's have worked well and I've had amazing support from Hasselblad in NJ, with the price of this equipment their service has made me feel quite comfortable.

Many stand by the dealer network, like Fotocare. I personally don't need them, but they are reliable, knowledgeable and helpful. It's not a bad way to go.

I am sorry I cannot give any other advice on the link. But I would recommend the model or even the H3DII (larger LCD and better heat management). Good luck with your purchase.

Kind regards,
Derek

Hi all

Meant to post this earlier in the month.

I had a job came up just before christmas and the brief was to shoot the centre circle of a premier football pitch  for a 16 ft poster, and "can we see as much detail as possible".

Paul Waterworth of HUK kindly lent me the first  H3d 50 (and the 28mm in the UK) , hot off the production line.

Despite a wet drizzle, the shot I got amazed everyone ( the grounds man wasnt happy with the ladder on his pitch tho') , talk about every blade of grass!

The 50 works great on a 17in MBP using Phocus

Great grass colour, got the shot exactly as the client wanted.

Cheers

P

p.s happy new year.. sorry been busy Smiley
