Does anyone know if the cheap remote release cords on Ebay will work on the H39II. They say they will work on the H1 and H2 but make no mention of the H3. The price listed is $3  to $5 as opposed to $84 from Hasselblad. Hasselblad just list their cable is for the H.

I bought one recently. They are equivalent to one of the Canon ones. The only problem is that they have a right angle plug which makes getting at the DOF button an issue. Other than that, they are great.

Thanks. I think you can get a straight plug at Radio Shake or an extension with a straight plug.

Don't you have a Hasselblad dealer? What about B&H?

All the shutter release cord does is complete a circuit. There are two circuits - one for half press, one for full press - that are 'open', or not completed. When you attach a shutter release, pressing it halfway completes the half press circuit, and pressing it all the way completes the full press circuit.

I've bought several cords from various manufacturers on eBay. The radio controlled ones work quite well. My body sometimes acts a bit odd when shooting with the wired ones, but I'm not sure if that is coincidence or not. I'd echo Jeff's concern that they block the DOF button, but you can remap that to other buttons if you need.
