For some reason I can't reverse the lens hood on my HC 100mm lens for stowing the camera/lens with reversed hood inside camera bag.
The lens hood from my HC 50mm (also 77mm) works perfectly on on the 100mm and of course the 50.
Is this a common for some HC lens hoods?

Thanks!

Not at all, mine all reverse including the 100. I wonder if it's been damaged at some time. They are buggers of things if you get them on wrong, and take a bit of effort to get off.

My 100 also appears not to reverse. Guess its just very tight and I don't want to force it.

I got the Dalai Lama to pop round to have a go. He just smiled serenely and gently made it go on. It was a joy to watch!

His Holiness gets around a lot. He was on Master Chef in Oz this week. I didn't see him perform any magic like lens hood attachment though.

Just got mine, yes, the hood indeed very tight, you need to force it but you must know the direction first
